Reverend Mitchell Adger
 
Reverend Mitchell Adger, native of Manning, South Carolina, is a 1980 graduate from Manning High School. Reverend Mitchell Adger is the son of the late Deacon Johnny and Bernice Adger of Manning, South Carolina.
 
 He was called as Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist church’s fifth pastor in June 2013.  Rev. Adger accepted the call to preach in 1981, and was licensed at the St. Mark Baptist Church of Silver, South Carolina under the pastorate of Rev. Harold Palmer and in 1983 ordained by the Black River Baptist Association.  In 1985 Reverend Adger joined Ebenezer Baptist Church, Manning, South Carolina, where served as Assistant Pastor and Youth Minister from 1986 until 1997.
 
In June 1997, Reverend Adger accepted the call to Mt. Zion Chapel Missionary Baptist Church of Pamplico, South Carolina, where he pastored for sixteen years leading the church in Christian Education, Discipleship and Community Development.
 
Reverend Adger is a Servant and Shepherd for the Lord. He is a gifted preacher, teacher and leader and his parishioners characterize him as "energetic, "generous" and "motivational."  God gave Rev. Adger a vision for Mt.  Zion Missionary Baptist Church which is: Mt. Zion desires to be a family church empowered by the love of Christ to serve the family of God.
 
In June 1985, Reverend Adger received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Morris College, Sumter, South Carolina, as well as pursued further studies toward his Bachelor of Theology degree. He has completed course work toward a Master of Divinity Degree at Interdenominational Theological Center, Atlanta, Georgia.  He received his Masters of Divinity Degree May 2012 from Hood Theological Seminary, Salisbury, North Carolina.  He received an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity degree from Agape Bible College and Seminary, Gastonia, North Carolina.
 
He has received many religious and community awards and citations.In September 2008 Reverend Adger preached the opening sermon at the National Baptist Convention of America, Inc, Int. in Houston, Texas.
 
He serves as Vice President of the Pee Dee District Congress of Christian Education, Past Clerk of the Pee Dee Baptist Association, Treasurer of the South Carolina Baptist Congress of Christian Education (SCBCCE), Member of the Executive Board of the Education & Missionary Convention of South Carolina and Past Chairman of the South Carolina Fellowship of the National Baptist Convention of America, Inc.
 
Reverend Adger is employed with the Clarendon County Board of Education as the Attendance Coordinator.
 
Reverend Adger is married to the former Mary M. Gibson of Summerton, South Carolina and they are the proud parents of four children: Three sons - Chase, Michael and Brandon; and one daughter, Ashley. They are also the proud grandparents of four grandchildren.
